hey waiting,
It's pretty hard to keep my hands over my eyes-ears-mouth while you vocalize the things that I'm trying not to think.
Why can't ignorance be blissfull?

Thank You Frenchy,
Wonderful short story. Similar to a future I feared prior to my contact with the witnesses. The future they promised was a welcome relief. Through my years of inactivity I desperately clung to their new vision, even though I never really expected to make it there. For the good of mankind, and to see Satan abyssed and all that.
I'm beginning to reread the Bible. I will try to stay openminded. I pray that I'll be able to continue to hope for the later vision and not that of the future you so masterfully portrayed. -

Any spot is a good place to say "Hello". Don't mean to rub it in but these ripe olives really are making a mess. If you were to take a pin and stick it through the globe from the promised land at a 90deg angle, you would probably stick me in the a...area.
Don't need your 2 cents if you are out there Randy.
So, anyway's. Greetings! -

Thanks Larc for your diplomatic reply,
I was pondering how to respond to bh and trying to convey to him the importance of the DEPTH of feelings expressed here. More importantly, how to intregate that and become sympathetic enough to be able to respond meaningfully.
I failed, you made a valid attempt.

Come writers and critics who prophesy with your pen
And keep your eyes wide, the chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon for the wheel's still in spin
And there's no telling who that it's naming
For the loser now maybe later will win
For the times they are a-changin'

Why do they have clothes on?
by Simon injust a thought.... in most of the publications that have pictures of people in the new order / new system / paradise earth - why do they have clothes on?
not only that, but they usually wear their national costumes !.
i guess the practical reason is that if everyone was naked then the watchtower would be classed as soft-porn and could only be sold from top shelves.... anyone have any thoughts on this?

Waiting,
It appears we were posting at the same time and it would seem I'm not the only person on this planet that thinks the way I do. Kinda scarey. I may have to find a new song to sing in the shower. "The Loner" may no longer be appropriate. -

I have never had any in-depth discussions regarding this. I just assumed that this allowed the same illustrations to be used globally. If everyone dressed like a New Yorker people in California couldn't relate (what, no Teva sandals?), much less someone in Micronesia. The diversity of dress makes it seem generic. It also sends the message that all cultural groups are welcome.
The illustrations also,IMHO, portray the period of time shortly after the cleansing of the earth. Coming from a construction background I know we can do a lot better than those stick houses that are portrayed. Dwellings will have to last much longer. Stone is nice. Some type of clothing is required because of people like me. It's going to take a long time before my mind is cleansed enough to not be a little TOO pleased by nudity. Self control only goes so far.
I'm pretty certain my magazine placements would have been much higher if the Society had been a little more creative, though. -

Ok, how about Mick Taylor, he started with John Mayall then moved on to the Stones. Ever wondered why Exile on Main Street was such a sharp departure from their evolving style? Next is Peter Green. He started with John Mayall, as well and then helped found Fleetwood Mac. As long as I'm on a roll, give a listen to Bert Jansch and John Renbourn.
All of the above are more than worth the time to listen, and probably most can be downloaded on Napster.
My Guitar of choice is my 1960 Martin D28, although it seems to collect way too much dust. -

Any Baldur's Gate fans out there? BGII is great fun. Age of Empires II is good as well, especially the expansion pack. C&C Tiberian Sun would be good multiplayer and of course Warcraft and Starcraft. Then, of course, there's always MythI or MythII.
Lots of games and so little time. -

The photo's were interesting. They didn't give me the creeps.
I had an incident a few years ago during a time I was VERY inactive that lasted for a few days. It was very wierd and I actually saw, one night, three translucent humanoid shapes in my backyard. Some of those photo's were similar. So I suppose some of them are real and some are probably faked. BTW the next day after seeing the apparition's I did some serious house cleaning. Yes, I did have some questionable items and yes, I got rid of them. I read aloud from Psalms for a while and prayed aloud for a while and the problem went away and did not return. I never thought about photographing them and probably wouldn't have anyway. I wanted to forget the whole episode, not document it. I don't believe the proper term for what I saw or what any of these photo's represent is ghost. I think they should be labeled demons, or fallen angels. I also think they should be avoided, not encouraged. There was nothing pleasant about this episode.
